In the Valley of the Bagpipe: Ciociaria Romantic Route

It is a unique tour of both north and south of the Comino Valley, rich in literary and cultural insights recalling D.H. Lawrence, one of the last “romantic” authors who, at the beginning of 1900, visited this valley and drew inspiration for one of his most famous novels

In the background of the Abbey of Montecassino we will start a romantic tour around the valley in the villages of Picinisco, Casalattico and Atina with its Archaeological Museum, one of the most complete and accurate in southern Lazio, in addition to the monastery of Vicalvi immersed in a oak and chestnut tree wood where the little poor man of Assisi stayed. Accompanied by the ancestral sound of the bagpipe echoing in the valley, where this musical instrument is especially popular, we will taste the Cabernet doc (i.e. Controlled Designation of Origin, the Italian indication of a superior wine) wine of Atina along with other typical local products.
